Applications
Shielded metal arc welding for repairing and joining various kinds of cast irons. For welding of
cast irons.
Characteristics on usage
CIA-1
A covered electrode with graphite type coating flux and pure nickel core rod.
Least hardening of the weld metal and the heat affected zone of cast iron is obtained with
CIA-1.
Therefore, it has excellent weld ability and machinability.
CIA-2
A covered electrode with graphite type coating flux and 55%Ni-Fe alloy core rod.
The hardening of the weld metal is less than CIA-3, and crack resistibility is excellent.
CIA-3
A low hydrogen type electrode with pure iron core rod.
The hardening of the weld is larger than CIA-1 and CIA-2, so it is suitable where post-weld
machining is not needed.
